ALTS2400 CSA Z32 Test System

The ALTS2400 is an automated test unit specializing in performing Electrical Polarity, Voltage Drop, and Ground Return Path Voltage Rise Tests for Grounded Systems required for compliancy to CSA Z32.

The CSA Z32 standard (Electrical Safety and Essential Electrical Systems in Health Care Facilities) is referenced in section 24 of CSA C22.1 15 (Canadian Electrical Code, Part I Safety Standard for Electrical Installations).

Each system is certified to SPE-1000-13 for electrical safety compliancy and calibrated prior to shipping.

A laptop with Windows 7 (or higher) running the included ALTS2400 Control Software connected via USB is all that is required to perform efficient and accurate CSA Z32 testing.

Each test is completed in less than 20 seconds with much higher accuracy and more information gathered than using conventional single measurement methods.

The SC1500 cable (provided with the system) is plugged into the ALTS2400 with the other end connected to the receptacle under test.

A computer running the ALTS2400 Control Software provides instantaneous voltages readings and performs automatic testing and data collection for all electrical tests as required by the Canadian Electrical Code (section 24, as per CSA Z32).

Electrical commissioning can be completed faster and more accurately than any other system on the market today.

The SC1500 cable (for 15 A circuits) and the SC2000 (for 20 A circuits) allow you to test and quickly change from receptacle to receptacle while complying with the Canadian Electrical Code.

Each cable provides sense lines to the ALTS2400 from the receptacle under test ensuring that the voltage at the receptacle is measured alleviating the effect of voltage drop in the cable while under load.

The ALTS2400 adheres strictly to the CSA Z32 standard for loading, time, and voltage measurement.

Inside the ALTS2400 – Smart Controller:

The ALTS2400 sequences tests according to the CSA Z32 standard with the help of a proprietary smart controller and load control module – each having its own microprocessor. This means that your CSA Z32 testing equipment investment is state-of-the-art and is firmware upgradeable.

Current and voltage measurements are made on-board the internal smart controller. Voltage measurements are made both internally and externally right at the receptacle with the SC1500 NEMA 5-15P (or SC2000 NEMA 5-20P) cable remotely via sense lines. This form of measurement accounts for “line drop” with connected loads providing the most accurate measurements possible.

Control Software:

The ALTS2400 CSA Z32 Test System Control Software provides automated voltage drop and ground fault tests at the click of a button. Tests are completed within twenty seconds and present collected data in a tabular or graphical format. A test summary is also presented after analyzing the collected data.

Data may be saved to a file and recalled for comparison at a later date.

A license of this base version is included with purchase of an ALTS2400 CSA Z32 Test System. This software is designed to run on a system with a USB port and Microsoft Windows 7 (with Service Pack 1) or higher.
